What is Salvia Divinorum?

Salvia divinorum is a psychoactive plant in the mint family (genus Labiatae).

Depending on your physical attributes, route of administration and strength of the Salvia divinorum that is used, the effects range from subtle to extremely strong.

People that are under the effects of Salvia usually have a very personal hallucinating experience.

While salvinorin A does activate opioid receptors in the brain, it’s important to draw a distinction between the mu-opioid receptor (activated by narcotics like heroin) and the kappa(1)-opioid receptor (activated by salvinorin A).

Drugs that work on the mu-opioid receptor cause sedation, pain-relief, and euphoria, but drugs that work on the kappa(1)-opioid receptor generally cause hallucinogenic, but often unpleasant (or even dysphoric) effects.

I personally don’t need much to feel the effects and I weigh in at 250 lbs, but I don’t really want much more from Salvia than to relax.

Some people report that the effects of Salvia became stronger after having used it a couple of times.

Some people appear to become more sensitive and will reach a higher level of effects after a couple of times.

I can’t stress enough just how different the effects can be for every individual that experiences this unique and pleasant (for me anyway) sensation.

Many of them will reach effects at a higher dose, but a minority will still feel nothing, even at higher doses.

Sublime Salvia Online – Cultivation, Propagation and Harvesting Of Salvia Divinorum

Growing Salvia divinorum is 100% legal and it is pretty easy to do especially if you have ever successfully nurtured a houseplant for any length of time.

Cuttings can be obtained online, usually at the same site you buy Salvia online.

The one problem that contributes the most to failure is ‘lack of patients’.

Cultivation of Salvia Divinorum

In almost all cases s. divinorum is cultivated from cuttings, because the plant very rarely produces viable seeds.

Cuttings are readily available on the internet, from the same site you buy dried Salvia online to smoke, in most cases.

The first couple of weeks the small plant needs to root.

After the plant has rooted, it can be grown as described below.

Salvia divinorum grows easily indoors in any climate.

It is possible to grow potted s. divinorum outdoors in pots, as long as those pots are brought inside when temperatures drop below the frost point.

S. divinorum needs a lot of water.

Just like any house plant, you will notice soon enough when it is time to water your salvia plant: the leaves will start to droop.

Propagation of Salvia Divinorum

The easiest way of making a cutting is by letting a branch root in water.

  • Cut off a leaved branch of between 7.5 – 20 cm (3 to 8 inches) around 1.5 cm ( 0.6 inch) below a node.
  • Cut of most large leaves, leaving only some small leaves.
  • Place the branch in a glass filled with appr. 5 cm ( 2 inches of water). Place each branch in a separate glass!
  • Place a clear glass jar (or clear plastic bag) over the plant to keep the humidity high. Place the glass in moderate sunlight. It is important to change the water daily.

Harvesting, Drying and Storage  of  Salvia Divinorum

The easiest and healthiest way (for the plant) of collecting leaves is to simply wait until they die and fall off.

This puts the least strain on the plant, but you will need some patience *NOTE* Read that last sentance again and again, it is VERY imprtant.

Drying leaves can be done by placing picked or naturally shed leaves on a plate in a dry room.

To ensure the quality of the salvia, it is advised to keep the leaves in a sealed jar, in a dark and dry place.

Growing Your Own Smoke

This diterpene compound (composed of only carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms) is present as salvinorin A (at 96%) and salvinorin B (at 4%).

Salvinorin A is considered the most potent natural psychoactive substance, where salvinorin B is not known to have any psychoactive effects.

Varieties of Salvia Divinorum

You are going to buy Salvia online, but do you have any clue as to what variety or strength of Salvia you want or need?

I remember wanting the absolute best when I bought some hash in Germany but I don’t remember much after that.

Salvia divinorum come in lots of varieties and strengths so if if you are new to buying Salvia online, you may want to crawl before you walk or you might end up crawling.

Varieties Of Salvia Divinorum

Fresh leaves of Salvia divinorum are rarely sold and Salvia online is generally sold either in dried leaves or in the form of extract.

Dried leaves vary tremendously in strength.

Many people also find it difficult to get satisfactory effects from plain dried leaves, because the wide variations in strength and quality of the Salvia leaves.

When you want to use Salvia following the quid method, you will need leaves, here is one persons suggestions on how to proceed.

1. I never spit while chewing the quid. I try to slowly swallow the juice that has accumulated at the end of the chew. Sometimes I can stomach it…..sometimes I can’t.

2. I never try to count leaves. I ALWAYS measure my salvia by weight. Whether I’m smoking or quidding. It’s the only way to accurately measure dosage. I would start out with 2 quids of about 2 grams each. Chew them one at a time for about 20 minutes each back to back.

3. I always try to tuck the quid under my tongue when not biting down on it. I gently mash it between my molars every 10 or 15 seconds or so to extract juice from it. I also keep my head tilted back slightly because the back of the throat absorbs the salvinorin A better than most of the mouth.

5. The visuals are not nearly as intense as with smoking but with eyes closed they can be quite pronounced and vivid. At least as far as my experiences go….The feelings I get with my body that coincide with the visuals are fantastic!! Even on my strongest quidding journeys I can usually open my eyes and know exactly where I am and what’s going on. Not always very coordinated, or able to communicate very well mind you but aware of my surroundings.

I have read many reports by people that don’t feel very meager or no effects from quidding. I enjoy it very much, but I’m a softhead. My first lungfull of salvia took me away and the reverse tolerance over time has made me even more sensitive to it.
Some people I know like to chew and towards the end fire up some plain leaf just for a boost. I’ve heard this makes for an intense, long lasting journey. I would suggest not trying that til you explore quidding first but it’s something to keep in mind.
